In January, we came together for our Day of Reflection and Reconciliation at The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial, a yearly event that allows the public to reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. King as we celebrated his 96th birthday.
While cool winter temperatures are always on the guest list, this program remains one of the Foundation’s most important annual events. Along with members of Congress and local leaders, we were delighted to welcome families and children to join us for the celebratory wreath laying at the Stone of Hope.
This year’s program featured an inspiring performance by The Historic Dunbar High School Choir, as well as words of reflection from the Reverend Matthew L. Watley (Kingdom Fellowship A.M.E. Church, Calverton, Maryland) and Martin Luther King, III.
