President’s Welcome

In August 2011, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, DC, opened to the public. Since its opening, millions of people from all walks of life have visited. The Memorial’s prestigious location on the National Mall and impactful design featuring the Stone of Hope has captivated the hearts of the young and old.

Dr. King’s poignant words, inscribed on the 453 feet Inscription Wall have inspired visitors to return to their communities and live out his legacy of democracy, justice, hope, and love.

We were proud when thousands of attendees joined President Barack Obama to officially dedicate the Memorial on October 16, 2011. And are even prouder knowing that the Memorial is a physical beacon of Dr. King’s dream.

We remain committed to continuing our track record of strong fiscal management, diverse leadership, and operating transparently and efficiently. We respect our partnerships and will continue to develop innovative educational programs, provide opportunities for meaningful exchange of ideas, and honor individuals who exemplify the four tenets.

We invite you to join us!

Sincerely,

Harry E. Johnson, Sr.President and CEO
