The Memorial Foundation, in partnership with Harris-Stowe State University (HSSU),
returned to St. Louis on Thursday, February 19th for the MLK Global Youth Leadership
Conference. Now in its fifth year in St. Louis, this year’s event welcomed more than 400
high school youth from around the region. Conference activities included inspiring
keynotes, interactive leadership development workshops, as well as college readiness
sessions to assist students as they prepare for post-high school pathways. In addition,
student participants were fully immersed in the Hornet Campus Experience with special
performances by the HSSU Cheer Squad, the Honeybees, the Drumline, and members
of the campus’ Divine Nine Greek Community.

Five local students were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements
during the conference, as the HSSU Office of Admission presented more than $50,000
in scholarship awards as part of the event. The day’s activities concluded with exciting
raffle give-a-ways and some festive line dancing to cap off an enriching day of learning
and engagement.
