In honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, a delegation from The Memorial
Foundation, including staff, Board Members, and friends, had the honor of Ringing the
Opening Bell® at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
This year’s event marked the third occasion for The Foundation to be invited to pay
tribute to Dr. King and his unwavering commitment to equality, justice, and peace.

In addition to Ringing the Opening Bell®, President and CEO Harry E. Johnson, Sr. also
participated in a live interview with CNBC to highlight The Memorial Foundation’s
mission to promote and support the general upkeep of the Martin Luther King, Jr.
Memorial on the National Mall, and to facilitate programs that encourage community
leadership and civic engagement.
